A trip

So I’ve decided to go visit my girlfriend in Taiwan this week. It’s been a few months since I’ve last seen her an it’s been a bit difficult on both of us. Coincidentally, I attended a Chinese language meet-up today and was sitting next to someone from Taiwan. He advised me to go to the far south to Kaisheng (sp?) to visit a beautiful park. I get the sense that there are no significant tourist attractions in Taiwan outside of a few museums in Taibei. If anybody knows of a truly memorable or historic location that I should visit, please make me aware.
